Byrne-ing to Read: "The Inner War!" by Gruenwald, Macchio, Byrne, and Sinnott

This is it, Groove-ophiles! The Pegasus Project officially begins here with "The Inner War!" from Marvel Two-In-One #53 (April 1979)! Mark Gruenwald, Ralph Macchio, John Byrne, and Joe Sinnott get it all together here--and when Ol' Groove says "get it all together", he means it! The Thing, Quasar, Thundra, Deathlok, Wundarr, and intrigue galore--and there's lots more to come! Why do we still talk about Project Pegasus over thirty years after it was published? 'Cause it's everything a Marvel story should be! Fantastic storyline and concepts, incredible art, and amazing guest-stars! If you've never experienced Project Pegasus, you're in for a treat!

  1. I remember reading it in a french three-monthly titled "Special Strange"(A sister publication of the main monthly one,"Strange",from editor Lug, of Lyon, high purveyor of super-hero fantasy) along with translations of Uncanny X-men and Marvel Team-up. Many times would you see John Byrne through the whole mag. Such a deal!

  2. I have the Project Pegasus paperback this story came from. It was one of those sagas you always remember because the characters are written so well. George Perez and the late great Gene Day on the inks completed this story. It must have been at least four to six issues but If I remember correctly there was a reference to Project Pegasus in the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. show.

  3. Each issue of this story contained what would be in a whole TPB nowadays!!! This was one of the first multi-issue story lines I ever read, and it still stands up well. Now, Marvel just needs to issue a trade of all of Macchio/Greunwald's MTIO books. What an art line up, Byrne, Perez, Bingham....
